On the First Friday of every month the Secular Oratory gathers for a vigil of Adoration and Reparation before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. We seek to make reparation to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary, so wounded by the sin and coldness of the world. Our model in this work of reparation and Adoration is St. Philip Neri, and in immitation of him we seek to adore and keep watch with Our Lord in selfless love and gratitude. Each month we reflect particularly on a certain virtue as it is exemplified in Jesus, Mary, and St. Philip - virtues such as humility, detachment, purity, and stillness of heart.
Our Lord desires to draw us close and set us on fire for love of Him. With Mary, whose Immaculate Heart loved Our Lord so completely and tenderly, we prepare a place for Him within our hearts so that we might receive Him in purity and humility. Like St. Philip we pray that Our Lord will send His Holy Spirit upon us so that our hearts might burn for love of Him and those He has called us to serve.
Join us every First Friday of the month for this three hour prayer vigil from 8pm-11pm.
