In celebration of the 500th anniversary of the birth of our Holy Father, St Philip (21 July 1515), Pope Francis has granted a Jubilee Year with an attached Plenary Indulgence, subject to the usual conditions (sacramental Confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff). During the Jubilee Year, which runs from the 25th of May 2015 to the 26th of May 2016, the indulgence can be gained in any church of a canonically established Congregation of the Oratory.
In addition to other requirements, all of which are listed in the Guide to the Jubilee Year of St. Philip Neri pamphlet, the faithful who wish to receive the indulgence must attend a Mass or devotion in honor of St. Philip. In order to aid the faithful in fulfilling this requirement The Pittsburgh Oratory will celebrate Votive Masses of St. Philip Neri throughout the year on designated Saturdays. In addition, Confessions will be heard for thirty minutes prior to Mass on these days.
